First there is lust, that carnal attraction. Being with someone who you fantasize about, who you just look at and can't keep your hands off is unique thing. This type of lust and desire for someone can lead to some very hot sex, and a deep connection. But if you were to try and play devils advocate for even a moment, in theory a gorgeous, really hot girl (or guy, don't worry I'm not forgetting about you ladies) can still be not that great in bed. She may have the curves, the body, smile, and face that you dreamed about, but she or he may not give great head, may not make your toes curl, and for that matter may not even bring out your inner (or not so hidden freak). And let's be honest, that's a shame. Essentially that connection that goes beyond first glance and looks, might not be there. It can still be good sex, but will it reach that mind blowing level that comes with a deeper connection? It may or may not
Then there's passion. Passion is that burning, that yearning, that fire you have for someone. However, in my opinion it goes beyond just looks. There's a reason passionate sex is different from just sex you have with a random hook up. No matter how hot he or she is, it's different when there's a connection. You know their bodies, you know what they like, you almost become completely selfless. It's all about the passion and the moment, you just want to please them, hold them, your bodies just molding together. Sweating, breathing heavy....it's just a different feeling. Passion is a rare thing and personally, I believe it's something developed and can lead to the better connection and hopefully better sex.
But who knows? People are different, and for someone they just want that trophy fuck and others want something a bit more than just the looks.
